How to use good SEO &  Web Design to tune your Wedding Web Site

Ok  …….. so who am I ?   Well I am currently employed by a commercial airline in their IT Software Support Department. I work within a tightly knitted team of 8 and we support all things Linux ( Redhat ) / Solaris & AIX. However over the last 6 – 9 months in my spare time I have got more interested in Web Design and SEO ( Search Engine Optimization ) …. why you ask ?

Can SEO really work for little ole me

Well my wife works for an airline too and also runs a wedding video business in her spare time. She has been doing this for the last 16 years.

Last year just before the credit crunch, recession , World melt down or what ever you would like to call it she decided she wanted to take some time off flying and see if she could take her part-time business into full time employment just encase the airlines go belly up… sound familiar ?

At the time we had a basic web site , put together by us ,  some  advertising in a few  of the Bridal & Wedding magazines,  we… or rather Ines  just worked off passed recommendations from previous happy Brides & Grooms.

Through a chance meeting at the IOV Convention last year in Coventry  we meet another couple who film weddings, however they do it full time. We spent the day with this lovely couple who were so helpful in helping us get started that we have remained close friends ever since.

Do I really need to be on Facebook and have a weekly blog ?

Yes you do …….when I started researching into Web Hosting , Blogging , Facebook , Twitter and SEO , Ines’s web site was on page 100 and had no Page Ranking at all.

Within 6 months she now has a Page Ranking of 2 , is on Google’s Top 30 for just a search on key words “wedding video” , if you were to define your search to “wedding videos in surrey” she will be within the first 10 sites Google sends back to you.

This has been achieved through various techniques , mainly time and without major cost as some Companies would like to charge you.

I am going to start helping Companies mainly associated within the Wedding Industry as this is the industry VIS-a-VIDEO works in. I have spent the last 8 months doing research into keyword , key phases and trends for Wedding Videos so I am pretty much au fait with this particular niche of the business.
