TFB – Sunday Morning Ride

Mountain Bike Riding with TFB

Simon “Weed” Telling

Greetings again from the Off duty side of Vis-a-Video, Ines had a late day on Saturday filming a wedding, so while she was recovering and having a lie in, I was up at 6:40 to get ready to meet up with the TFB for a 7:30 am Sunday Ride out

TFB Tadworth Mountain Bike Club

Today’s ride was fairly low on numbers, guess with most people away on Summer holidays, but we headed out to do the usual Brockham Loop plus we added in the Stepping Stones and the climb up to Box Hill view a lovely view of the Surrey Downs

We ended the day with fresh coffee and freshly made cakes at the top of Box hill before heading home back to Tadworth via Headley Common

Vis-à-Video approved Wedding Video supplier for London Gherkin

More great news for Ines Telling of Vis-à-Video, on Friday she joined the Approved Suppliers List for London’s 30 St Mary Axe aka London Gherkin. This has to be one of the best Wedding Venues in London offering spectacular views of this beautiful city.

Recently Ines from Vis-a-Video filmed the Wedding of Philly & Peter, here is a short Wedding Show reel of their London Wedding.

If you are looking to have your wedding at the London Gherkin, I would highly recommend you give Val a call at Searcys 1847 and arrange a show around over a cup of coffee and as I keep saying, you will be blown away by the views of London from the 40th floor of the Gherkin.

Rower Fort – Honiton – Devon

Wedding in Exeter and  50th Birthday at Rower Fort

Simon “Weed” Telling

Couple of weeks ago we were invited to our friend’s 50th, Josh had hired Rower Fort for the week, and asked if we could come down and help to enjoy in his 50th birthday celebrations. When I told Ines about the invite, her response was “August it’s one of the busiest month’s in the wedding season, there is no way I can go”

After checking her schedule we saw that she was booked to film a wedding in Exeter of all places, checking the map we saw it only 10 miles from Rower Fort – now how spooky is that. Having never driven to Devon before, we enjoyed the delights of the A303 – The Pig Farm and Stonehenge. Now for anyone who is a regular commuter to Devon will tell you the A303 on a Friday is a complete nightmare

Lucky for us we had TomTom with the Live traffic updates, so every time we started to hit traffic TTG would advise us and then re-route, well worth the monthly subscription fee. After safely arriving at Rower Fort and saying hi to everyone it was time for a couple of beers and then off to bed. Saturday saw Ines head off to Combe House to film the wedding of Kate and James while the rest of us went for a lovely walk around the rolling countryside.

Sunday saw everyone enjoy a lovely BBQ and a drive to Seatown for a lovely walk on the beach, Devon is a truly wonderful place and we look forward to revisiting again, maybe next time I will bring my mountain bike down :-) Talking about mountain biking, last time I was out with the TFB I managed to break the gearing of the bike, speaking to a few guys from the club they suggest I give Alan Rawson a call, he is a member of the club and is starting to run his own mobile bicycle repair business – Good news the bike is now back and ready for tonight’s ride to the Sportsman at Mogador.

TFB – Tadworth Fit Boys Mountain Bike Club

Well, the heat of summer plus the pain of sitting on the M25 everyday for over 2 hours each way has made me reevaluate my current vehicle and drive to work strategy, as we are now told we are working until we are 70, I have another 25 years driving to Heathrow. Since the surgeon has advised to stay off dirt bikes for over 16 months to help the shoulder and knee grow strong, I have already decided to sell my KTM 250 RFS but this week I have decided to sell my lovely Black T4 van and get a more suitable vehicle to commute the 70 miles round trip to work every day. Having looked at several manufactures and spoken to a few friends I have opted to purchase a Skoda. The Skoda is really a Audi / VW in poor man’s clothes, but do not let that fool you, that 2 litre TDI diesel engine sure packs a punch.

Tomorrow Ines and I are heading down to the showroom to buy one, which one we are not so sure yet, I think the Octavia Estate is the best one for us, as I can place my mountain bike in the bike and Ines can use it when she has to film a big wedding, and needs 2 – 3 cameramen and all the lights, tripods etc etc. Talking of filming wedding videos, Mrs T from VIS-à-VIDEO has been a very busy bee in June and has filmed weddings at Dansfield House near Marlow, a military wedding at Sandhust and Deepcut, 2 mid-week weddings one at Christ Church in Oxford and the second Notely Abbey where she is the recommended supplier as a wedding videographer.

While I have been very busy too, ok so I went to Silverstone to watch the British MotoGP and may head off to Goodwood Festival this Friday, this month has also seen me join a few local mountain bikers from Tadworth, who all cycle under the colours of TFB. When I asked what it stood for one said the wives call them Tadworth Fat Boys, but I think it stands for Tadworth Fit Boys – They may be over 40 but boy can they cycle. I will keep you posted of any further news from TFB and which car we purchase.

Pro-Tel return to work – VIS-a-VIDEO full speed ahead

After 12 months since my mountain bike accident and two operations later I finally headed back to work this week. Having lived in the conservatory for most of the time, it was not a great feeling to be hit by the traffic on the M25. My first day back and there I was just parked on junction 9 going no-where, not what I was expecting at 10:30 in the morning. While I was recovering at home, Ines Telling ( proprietor of VIS-à-VIDEO) was running the household and her successful wedding video business, and thankfully we are almost back to normal with me back in charge of all the administration for the business. Ok so I make the sandwiches and load up the car with tripods and camera gear, but I am still part of the business. Ines is very fortunate in that a previous bride and groom whom she filmed a wedding for in Notely Abbey has a friend who is a professional cameraman. Working in London  Monday to Friday and was looking to broaden his filming skills and also get the opportunity to get creative and artistic with the camera, introduction stage left Peter. Peter is now fully on-board with VIS-a-VIDEO and is now our second professional camera operator and all round good egg.

To date they have filmed at Wokefield Park in Berkshire, Aviator Hotel in Farnborough and Great Fosters in Egham to film a Jewish and Polish mixed wedding and first time for Peter at Highclere Castle in Berskshire. While I was off to see my sports therapists near Leigh Hill in Dorking, Ines was only a few miles away meeting a future bride and groom to discuss their requirements at Wotton House a wedding venue ion the outskirts of Dorking in Surrey. This weekend is the MotoGP from Silverstone and still making my mind up wether to travel up on Sunday to watch the race or sit in the comfort of my own home and watch it – I will keep you posted, finally I am upgrading to WordPress 3 today and will take that for a small test drive too.
