Wedding Venues – Ramster – near Chiddingfold
Hurrah – I have been able to add another brilliant wedding venue to my Wedding Venue Directory: Ramster. You might remember me talking about this…but I’ll recap briefly: I picked up a very last minute wedding with less than a week before the date. Natalie and David thought they had booked a videographer, only to find out days before the wedding that he had double-booked and couldn’t do it – without telling them. They weren’t best pleased and, directed by Ella and Laurence Bulaitis of Laurence Photography, ended up in my studio, where I showed them some wedding video samples from my creative and artistic repertoire
and off we went.
It transpired that this was their second attempt at getting married – everything had been planned once before last year, but then the arrival of child number three put a stop to it all. So here we go again, I think we’re safe this time round…and to add a really lovely personal touch Natalie is using her grandmothers wedding ring, as depicted on their fabulous order of service:

The wedding was held at Ramster, a 17th century building near Chiddingfold, Guildford, Surrey, originally built by a glassmaker. It really is a lovely place, as I suspected when I checked out their website beforehand, and I got to say ‘Hello’ to ‘Old Harry’, the over 600 year old oak tree…very impressive he is, too:

It was a lovely bright day and Natalie’s wedding car was a wonderful vintage Citroen Traction, kindly made available by a friend:

It was the most perfect setting – an old stone wall, covered in gorgeous flowers, overlooked by the old oak tree, bridesmaids and pageboy waiting, the bridal car about to pull into focus…

AND THEN … *insert scratched record grinding to halt sound effect*…

*insert furious videographer sound effect, to be removed in post production*
*SIGH*…and we smile and move on….it was all good from here on…
The ceremony music was provided by Mike Lindup, a friend of Natalie and David’s, of Level 42 fame…

Afterwards the guests relaxed outside with champagne and canapes for their wedding reception, while Vis-a-Video and Laurence Photography went off with Natalie and David to explore the lovely gardens at Ramster, which are famous for its rhododendron hedges:

The wedding breakfast was expertly provided by Jacaranda Catering, who I have worked with before and who were quietly efficient. The staff were extraordinarily friendly and I was looked after very well – the barbecued leg of lamb they had been preparing in the afternoon was exemplary and the wedding cake we had cut before everybody sat down for their wedding breakfast was served as dessert and looked absolutely delicious…

Once everybody had enjoyed the wonderful service and excellent food it was onto the evening entertainment – in charge of this were 29 Fingers, one of the most fantastic wedding bands ever. These guys know how to party and make sure they show you, too. Their details are going into my personal recommendations file! I leave you with some of my favourite moments…

BUT THEN…….
……….Move over, 29 Fingers, introducing the newest kids on the block:

All in it was a wonderful day, Natalie and David are a great couple and it was excellent to renew my acquaintance with Laurence Photography - their style is very similar to mine, so we complemented each other quite well, and they are ever such nice people…Now all I have left to do is edit the lot!!
