70th Birthday Bash – Papa Telling
A break from filming Wedding Videos , we are off to celebrate Dad’s 70th
Today I worked from home to a) get a break from the M25 daily drag and b) try and get away to my Dad’s 70th birthday bash in Stratford Upon Avon, well it is 9 pm and we are hoping to get away from London in the next 30 minutes.
As well as my day job being a systems administrator for a large British airline carrier I am also the IT person for my wife’s business vis-A-video ( http://www.visavideo.co.uk ) . Today has been as new learning curve as I am now learning how to get her web site higher up on the page rankings. So it’s back into the manuals to learn about SOE , robots.txt and sitemap.xml formats.
Having just built basic web sites it has being very interesting learning how the google spiders and robots work, hopefully within 4 weeks we should start to see some results , at least we have total control over our domain and can tweak the site on a daily basis.
Tomorrow 17 of us are going to celebrate my dad’s birthday with a day at the races followed by a meal, I have bought him a 18 year old bottle of single malt , which I know e is going to love.
Had a fantastic weekend at Stratford on Avon to celebrate my Dad’s 70th birthday, the old boy managed to acquire 3 bottles of single malt , one a 12 yr , another a 15 yr and the one we bought him a lovely 18 year single malt. My auntie in Auss came up with a great idea of collecting a load of old photos from all corners of the world and then my cousin Mandy in France sent them of to Kodak to make up a digitally enhanced photo album. He was absolutely gob smacked with this , and Ines managed to capture a few photos at the right time.
After a champagne breakfast 17 of us headed off to Stratford races for a great day of horse racing , where I managed to lose most of my money .
Sunday we headed back to Heathrow Airport where Ines handed in her id to UAL and now has 18 months off flying , she will now focus on getting www.visavideo.co.uk up to speed as a full time business.
Couple of photos from the great day
