Notley Abbey – Your Wedding Venue near Thame

On Thursday this week, Ines from VIS-a-VIDEO was off to film a midweek wedding at the beautiful wedding venue Notley Abbey near Haddenham.

This is a return for VIS-a-VIDEO, as Ines filmed a wedding back in September of this year at this picture perfect wedding venue.

As this was a Thursday, the drive from Epsom to Thame was just under an hour and half, on another plus the weather was cold but very clear and for a change no rain. Ines arrived at 11:30 and with the wedding at 2 pm it gave her plenty of time to wander around the delightful Abbey and get plenty of establishing shots.

Today, Ines was filming the wedding of Lorraine and Rhys, a wonderful young couple, the Bride is from Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire and the Groom from Wales.

Notley Abbey is probably better known as the former home of Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh. The Abbey is set in 69 acres of peaceful countryside, which makes it ideal for your perfect wedding venue. You will notice the rooms are named ‘Larry’ and ‘Vivien’ and guests can stay the night over and then enjoy a hearty breakfast.

In the reign of Henry II in the 12th century the Abbey was a Monk’s Refectory, but today the Abbey is a glorious 21st century home, where you can get married either inside or outside, from the Abbot’s Hall, the Banqueting Hall and the Garden Sanctuary – perfect for whatever the British weather throws at your ceremony.

Lorraine and Rhys had an indoor civil ceremony followed by the wedding breakfast in the Banqueting Hall. The couple’s every wish was catered for by the current owners bijou weddings, who really know how to run the perfect wedding event. The day went like clockwork under the watchful eye of Gemma – and as a wedding videographer, Ines says bijou really make sure the suppliers are looked after too.

The photographers on the day were Caroline and Richard from CP Photography – This was the first time Ines worked with Caroline but the two of them got on like a house of fire and hope they will get plenty of opportunity to work together in 2010.

As most people are getting ready for Christmas, Ines is back in the studio, recharging camera batteries, and preparing for her next wedding – On Saturday Ines is filming the next wedding video in Ipswich.

I will update you on that wedding on Monday – so until next time – For your perfect wedding video – think VIS-a-VIDEO

Wedding at Rickmansworth – Hertfordshire

Phil and Lucy Wedding with reception at MPCG

With Christmas fast approaching, Ines Telling from VIS-à-VIDEO is busy filming 5 “Winter Weddings”. Yesterday she was out filming a catholic wedding in Middlesex, followed by the reception in Hertfordshire.

As luck would have it, the day was cold but bright so no umbrellas and waterproofs, Ines had to be at Hillingdon for 10am to film the bridal preparations before heading over to St.Bernadette’s Catholic Church for a midday church service.

Luck must have been on her side, as for once she managed to park in the small car-park provided by the church and get all set before the Bride and Groom arrived.

Wedding images from Wedding Venue Moor Park Golf Club - Wedding Videos by VIS-a-VIDEO of Epsom Surrey

The church is part of the Diocese of Westminster, and as all churches now seem to have embraced technology, St. Bernadette’s has it’s own web site too… [ here] ..

The bride arrived at the church in a very sexy open roofed sports car… you need to see the video to check out this little car… but as I said earlier is was a very bright but COLD day!

The groom had two best men for the day, (as it transpires they all spent 4 years at Uni together studying medicine)  -  most of the congregation had taken time off from their pharmacies to be there.. lets hope London was safe for the day :-)

During the church service, Phil and Lucy had a beautiful soloist sing the church hymns,  Ines said it was probably the most amazing singing she has ever heard in a church service. The young lady in question is Francesca Gash – she currently does not have a web site, so we are going to give her a plug here.

Francesca is a wedding singer available for weddings and other ceremonies, she can sing a wide range of repertoires from Classical and Oratorio to more contemporary styles. You can contact Francesca either by mail at fra...@hotmail.co.uk or 07851354459.

After the church service, the newlyweds Phil and Lucy headed off in the sports car, this time with the roof up to MPGC ( Moor Park Golf Club ) for their wedding reception and wedding breakfast.

MPGC as we will call it is located in Rickmansworth, it’s a wedding venue in Hertfordshire Ines has worked at before so no stress in trying to find the location.  I am not sure there is a wedding venue in the South East that Ines has not worked at over the last seventeen years!!!!

Anyway back to MPGC, one of the things you do need to be ware of when coming here is that golfers have the right of way, and you need to be careful of golfers about to tee off across the road!

If you have never been to MPGC before, then you need to get in your car now and head over there -  it is a truly spectacular place to hold your wedding.

best man waiting

It is a Grade I listed Palladian mansion set within several hundred acres of parkland in Hertfordshire, England. It is called Moor Park Mansion because it is in the old park of the Manor of More.

If you are a film buff and remember the classic movie “Bridge too Far” , then you would be interested to know that during World War II the mansion was requisitioned, becoming the Headquarters of the 1st Airborne Corps who planned Operation Market Garden.

By now the weather had changed and with a slight drizzle it was down to the photographer Robert Shack from RGS Photography to get all the group and family  wedding photos shot before the downpour.

The wedding was kept on time and all processions kept to order by the wonderful toastmaster Arthur Tilley who it transpires served in the RAF Regiment which is the same unit as Ines’ husband Simon served in.

After the wedding breakfast was served, which was a beautiful beef wellington and potato gratin, Phil and Lucy kicked off the evening with their first dance. The couple must have had some dance lessons, as they did their own SCD (Strictly Come Dancing) show  – and the crowd went wild!! This was then followed by some live 70’s Jazz Funk to kick the evening disco into full swing.

After getting some footage of the band’s first set, Ines packed away her filming gear said goodbye to the Bride & Groom and headed back to Surrey – the home of VIS-a-VIDEO.

Well folks until next week’s wedding update – yes no rest for the Award Winning Videographer – this is the First Officer signing off from the flight deck once again.

The Grove Country Hotel

Wedding Video from The Grove Country Hotel

Greetings from the flight deck of VIS-à-VIDEO, this is the SEO officer reporting in on another adventure of Ines Telling – The Award Winning Wedding Videographer who is based in Surrey.

This weekend saw Ines filming the wedding of Conal and Natasha with the church service at St Nicholas Church in Thames Ditton, followed by a wedding reception and breakfast at The Grove Country House in Hertfordshire.

image-from-st-nicholas-church-thames-ditton

With all the bad weather over the past few days, it was a lovely surprise for Ines to film the bridal preparations and then get set up at the church in the sunshine. However that was not to last forever, just as the newly weds left the church the heavens opened, and it rained for the rest of the day.

This was the first time Ines filmed a wedding at St Nicholas church, and it was a pleasure for her to meet the vicar John Silk who married Conal and Natasha. The church is steeped in history and even has it’s own wiki page !

With Hampton Court Place only a stones throw away, I guess it was easy for Henry VIII to visit :-)

As with all modern technology, even village churches now run web sites, and I have to admit this is a very nice website from the church and even includes a monthly pdf newsletter. If you are planning your wedding around Thames Ditton, Surbiton or surrounding areas I would highly recommend visiting the church’s website and popping in to speak to the vicar John Silk.

Having arrived in the sunshine, it was time to pack up and head off to The Grove in the pouring rain, I guess with Winter Weddings you have to expect the unexpected.

After departing Thames Ditton, it was a quick dash down the M3, then a hop onto the M25 and head north towards Watford. The Grove Country House is 5 minutes from junction 17 off the M25 set back into the countryside. If you are a lover of golf, then The Grove could also be the place for you, 2006 Tiger Woods won the World Golf Championship at The Grove Country Hotel.

getting-married-in-thames-ditton-surrey

It was busy day time at The Grove as there was a Jewish Wedding in the main room, plus Conal and Natasha’s wedding and a 50th birthday party at the Potting Shed, who said there was  a recession on?

Ines has filmed at The Grove County House in the past, if you are considering a wedding venue in Hertfordshire please look at the other wedding venues Ines has filmed at on her website and blog

On a final note, this was the first time Ines worked with Harold and Juliet from the wedding photography company Cameo Photography. Harold advises he is recommend wedding photographer for The Grove, so who knows he may even recommend Ines Telling from VIS-à-VIDEO as a videographer :-)

After finishing the first dance, Ines packed up and headed home for a well deserved glass of wine and catch up on Strictly Come Dancing.

Sunday is a day of importing all the footage from the wedding and meeting up with clients to discuss their wedding requirements for December – No rest for the Award Winner!

Willson Academy of Performing Arts

Filming Dance Show at Leatherhead Theatre

Ines Telling of Vis-à-Video has had a little break from filming weddings. The award winning wedding videographer was filming Sharon Willson’s dance troop “Willson Academy of Performing Arts” at the Leatherhead Theatre on 23rd to 24th October.

image-of-leatherhead-theatre

Not just specialising in filming wedding videos, Ines has experience filming theatre, dance and pantomime shows, this includes 14 years filming the British Airways pantomime at the Hawth near Gatwick, which is where she will  be back  in February  2010.

The last wedding filmed was the civil ceremony of Neil and Jan at the De Vere Hotel “Theobalds Park” at the tail end of October, but that does not mean Ines has been relaxing.  She is  spending up to 16 hours a day in her studio editing her current batch of wedding videos, and that is 16 hours a day seven days a week. WOW !!!!

Looking ahead, Ines is next filming a wedding on the 21st November at The Grove in Hertfordshire,  a wedding venue she has filmed on numerous occasions over the 17 years she has been filming weddings.

Weddings & Occasions at The Grove

The Grove is located on 300 acres of parkland encompassed with lakes and waterways. An 18th Century Mansion combining traditional charm with contemporary chic, but what is wonderful about this wedding venue in Hertfordshire is that it is only 40 minutes from central London and with easy access to the motorways.

The Grove can provide catering for both Asian and Jewish weddings, also assisting  with wedding planning and special occasions.

Winter Weddings in December 2009

Well, if you love winter weddings or you are planning a winter wedding, then I would look at some of Ines’s wedding show reels on her website, they are truly amazing. Currently, December is looking very busy, Ines has 5  bookings and will be filming weddings in locations from Reigate – Moor Park Golf Course – also back to Notley Abbey and Cain Manor which is run by the fabulous  bijou weddings, with whom Ines is the recommended wedding videographer.

Well until next time, this is the web designer and seo consultant from the flight deck signing off.

Civil Partnership – Theobalds Park – Cheshunt – Hertfordshire

Civil Ceremony – Neil & Jan – Video by VIS-à-VIDEO

On Sunday Ines from Vis-à-Video headed off around the M25 to junction 25 to film her very first Civil Partnership at the De Vere run Theobalds Park. Set in 55 rolling acres of parkland, this peaceful Georgian mansion has the looks to inspire you for your wedding video in the future.

It would be worth book marking De Vere’s web site for future reference if you are looking for a Wedding Venue in Hertfordshire.

Theobalds Park Wedding Venue in Herts

Ines filmed the Civil Ceremony of a very close friend – top Wedding Photographer and all round good egg – Neil Bailey.

She has worked with Neil on numerous occasions in the past, and was honoured to be asked to video his Civil Ceremony.

Neil was having a Civil Partnership to his long term partner of 15 years Jan, a mad and eccentric Dutch guy – who seemed to have brought half of Holland with him to the reception.

The ceremony was held outdoors in front of the grand entrance to the Georgian mansion, though there were no clouds and it was sunny, again it was a tad on the chilly side, but I guess this is the time for the ‘Autumn Weddings.

The highlights of the ceremony were the grand entrance of the ‘Man in Pink Dress’ – you just have to wait for the wedding photos and video – and the release of the white doves – always a tricky one but Ines managed to capture their flight on video.

There was no official Wedding Photographer – think Neil forgot it was his ceremony and spent more time taking photos of the guests than having photos of him and Jan

Wedding Guests at Wedding at Theobalds Park near Watford

The guests sat down to the wedding breakfast with the lyrics of Blackadder TV show sung by a medieval string player – with the evening’s first dance a mix of classic Frank Sinatra and Dutch hip hop – yep figure that one out :-)

By 11 pm Ines had finished filming and headed off to the bar to join Neil for a final drink before driving back halfway around the M25.

All in all a very busy weekend, with a wedding video in Surrey, followed by another wedding video in Herts...but when you are on page one of the search engines you will be busy.

This week Ines is filming rehearsals for a theatre show in Leatherhead for 3 days, with the main shows on Saturday, but at least she will have a weekend off afterwards…until it all kicks off again for good in December. Madness.

Vis-à-Video – Highly Commended for Best Wedding Day Film 2009

October 22nd, 2009

This year Ines Telling of Vis-à-Video attended the 2009 IOV Convention with the evening awards show at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry on 14th October. During the day the convention had several seminars plus the normal array of vendors and suppliers in the camera and video sector.

Ines attended several meetings and found the following to be the most interesting:

Entering the Wedding Industry
By John De Rienzo of De Rienzo Films

Ines thought John’s trailer to Pirates of the Caribbean featured a fantastic choice of music, and liked the idea of using a Steadicam Merlin so much she has bought the company…only kidding…but she did buy the Steadicam Merlin to play with on future wedding videos.

Grow your Video Business
with Branding and Social Media
By Niels Puttemans of Ever After Videos

Always great to hear from Niels as he is so knowledgeable in all aspects of the Wedding Sector. Ines was especially happy to find out she was already using good brand awareness and was fully up to speed with her Twitter and Facebook accounts – :-)

Use the Credit Crunch to help your Business Grow
By Jeremy Payne of Wicked Days

A fun and packed seminar run by Jeremy, who Ines had heard of but never properly met before, so it was nice to final put a face to the man – Ines also won the twitter prize and earned herself £20 prize money. Go girl!

Less is More: The Short Form Wedding Film
By Sylvia Broeckx of Ever After Videos

Again, always great to hear from the other half of Ever After Videos, and the topic in discussion was the short 30 minute edit – always inspiring when Sylvia talks.

The rest of the 2 days was spent visiting the vendor stalls, and as already mentioned Ines has bought a Steadicam Merlin, new Edirol Monitors MA15-D and a Edirol audio recorder – a must have for all Wedding Videographers.

In the evening Ines attended the Awards Ceremony, which was hosted by TV Presenter Maggie Philbin. Unfortunately, this year it was a male affair with the ladies – Ines Telling from Vis-à-Video and Sylvia Broeckx of Ever After Videos – hot on their heels with their “Highly Commended for Best Wedding Day Film 2009” Awards. Well done girls – there is always next year and here’s to 2010!

IOV awards 2009 - Best Wedding Film 2009 - Ines Telling of VIS-à-VIDEO

Well another year, another IOV convention, more friendships built and older ones more cemented – and to finish I leave you with one of the quotes of the seminars:

“You’ve got to go out on a limb sometimes because that’s where the fruit is.”

30 St Mary Axe, also known as the Gherkin and the Swiss Re Building, is a skyscraper in London’s main financial district, the City of London, completed in December 2003 and opened on 28 April 2004. It is 180 metres (591 ft) tall, with 40 floors. Its construction symbolised the start of a new high-rise construction boom in London.
