Playing the Magic Bullet

Artistic and Creative Wedding Videos by VIS-à-VIDEO

Well, it’s been a very busy couple of weeks for me and Mr T, Vis-a-Video’s resident IT and now SEO specialist. We decided to move our domains from our current ISP over to a domain hosting company in the US. I now have not one, not two but three websites – woo-hoo: www.visavideo.co.uk, www.visavideo.com and www.vis-a-video.co.uk. Next we’re moving ISP in the next couple of weeks or so, hopefully there won’t be too many disruptions or downtime. Thankfully, the domain move and subsequently email accounts change-over went fairly smoothly.

I think I’m addicted to Magic Bullet. Those filters are fantastic and where I used to spend only indecent amounts of time editing a wedding I now spend positively obscene amounts of time colour grading everything. But I do think it’s definitely worth it – I have delivered a couple of finished films where I’ve used it, the results are stunning and the clients were very happy indeed:

I wanted to let you know we have received the DVD this morning and watched it immediately…it is excellent, well done and thank you. We are very happy :-) Some of the shots you have captured are remarkable. You have done an excellent job! You have a very satisfied customer who will be recommending you to friends and family.”

We watched the DVDs last night and think they are Absolutely FANTASTIC. Really pleased and excited the way you have pulled all the footage together – really slick – a great job. It is obvious you have put a lot of effort and professionalism into the end product.

…The…DVDs you have produced provide us a fantastic record of the Special Day, I would say you exceeded our expectations and we are all very pleased with the DVDs. Again – Many Thanks for a great job – you captured all the great bits of a fantastic day….. a really professional job.”

Great – happy clients equal happy wedding film producer, i.e. ME!

On the home front, we have had our latest addition to the flock, a little pastel-face pied cockatiel for a month now and she is a quirky little thing. We named her ‘Noomi’ and I thought I had made the name up completely as I had never heard it before and was all proud – until I googled it and found out it’s actually a Finnish name. Ah well. She’s still well cute – the other day she heard the shower and had to investigate. She jumped onto Mr T’s head and of course slipped and ended up on the shower floor and absolutely soaked in two seconds flat with a centre parting. She did actually enjoy the blow-drying:

And with this happy half-dry bird I leave you until next time…
