News from Ines Telling – Professional Wedding Videographer

Ines “Vid Chick” Telling

So I thought May was busy for filming weddings, but June has just exploded with last minute bookings!!! Not only one of the hottest months to date this year, this month has seen me filming weddings in Bucks, Surrey, then driving over to Thame and Oxford to film a mid-week and a Friday wedding.

To start off the month I was back in Surrey to film a military wedding at the Officer Academy of Sandhurst with the ceremony at the Royal Memorial Chapel and wedding breakfast at the Officers Mess of Deepcut Barracks near Bisley. All lovely shiny boots, uniforms and swords – very dashing :) )

I was then back at Danesfield House to film the wedding of Susan and Leif. Danesfield is a luxury hotel and Spa, with grounds within the beautiful Chiltern Hills and overlooks the River Thames. It is located between towns of Marlow and Henley-on-Thames. The weather was perfect for some time-lapse testing and we managed to get some dramatic cloud and sunset time lapse footage. Can’t wait to get my editing teeth into that!

Henley-on-Thames and surrounding towns and villages are so beautiful that Mr Vis-a-Video and I have often thought of moving there, especially around Penn and Beaconsfield or into some of the smaller villages in and around Buckinghamshire.

The following Wednesday saw Peter and myself drive off to Oxford for a mid-week wedding. Lucky for me I am friends with Stuart Bebb, one of the fabulous wedding photographers based just outside Oxford and he gave me the secret directions into Oxford to miss all the traffic. Weeliem and Ellen were getting married at Christ Church, which is a unique institution, one of the largest colleges in the University of Oxford and the Cathedral Church for the Diocese of Oxford.

It also has one of the nicest, most accommodating and helpful reverends I have ever come across in my career as wedding Videographer :) ) Peter and I also managed to see the dining hall and staircase which were used in some of the Harry Potter films. Check out these photos…

After driving all the way back from Oxford, I had just about enough time to turn around before heading out to film Tania and Ioannis wedding at the lovely Notley Abbey in Thame. We arrived obscenely early for this so had loads of time to try some more time lapse stuff and again, managed some great clouds and sunsets. It is always great to go back to Notley Abbey, they really look after us suppliers, plus I am on the books as the recommended wedding videographer :) ) Right back to the editing suite and get ready for July which is even busier than June, lets just hope the weather cools down a tad! x

Lovekyn Chapel Wedding filmed by VIS-à-VIDEO

Filming a Civil Ceremony in Kingston-upon-Thames

Ines “Vid Chick” Telling

For 4 July, American Independence Day, Peter and I headed over to the lovely town of Kingston-upon-Thames to film Stephanie and Ken’s civil ceremony at the beautiful Lovekyn Chapel. 4th July was quite appropriate and no co-incidence as Stephanie, the bride herself, is American. It was going to be a very simple but elegant wedding with a minimum number of guests – 2! yep, you heard that right, two witnesses and the couple. The smallest I had done so far had a total of five, so now have broken my own record. Stephanie wore a very unusual wedding dress, knee-length, with the skirt entirely made up of petals.

Her bouquet had the most a-mazing colours, a riot of pink, purple, orange and red…

Wedding Flowers by Ines Telling of VIS-a-VIDEO

This is the first time I have filmed a wedding at Lovekyn Chapel and after 18 years of filming in the industry you would have thought I had filmed in every church or chapel this side of the Dartford Tunnel :-) – apparently not.

Wedding filmed by Ines Telling of VIS-a-VIDEO

Lovekyn Chapel is in the Diocese of Southwark and is also known as Chapel of St Mary Magdalene. It is a beautiful grade 2 listed church and originally a chantry chapel dating back to 1309. The medieval chapel is licensed for civil marriages, naming ceremonies and civil partnerships, it can house up to 60 wedding guests (not that we needed it ;-) .

After a little champagne reception in the lovely chapel courtyard we all headed off to Hampton Wick Pond which wedding photographer Victoria B suggested as a great place to get some wedding photographs. The entrance to this wonderful and secluded park is by the Old Kings Head pub just after you cross over Kingston bridge. Here is a google links map in case you’re interested… I’m sure the champagne helped a lot with the fun photo shoot we had!

The couple have now flown to France where they are having a second civil ceremony under the Eiffel Tower – jealous, MOI?!! Next week is another busy week with a wedding at Wotton House in Dorking – another venue I haven’t been to! – on the Friday followed by another first – Lulworth castle in Dorset. Exciting stuff. While I’m out filming Mr T will be at Silverstone for this year’s F1 Grand Prix, some people do have an easy life!

Wedding Video News

Ines “Vid Chick” Telling

Sorry everyone, it’s been a while, I know, but wedding season has now well and truly kicked off. Last time I reported I’d been filming at Wokefield Park in Berkshire, this time I was back in Surrey at a new wedding venue, the Aviator Hotel in Farnborough and I was off to film the wedding of Lynsey and Chris. Lynsey is the daughter of the famous Keith Thompson of Studio Rouge, one of the UK’s top wedding photographers for over 20 years, and is also a very successful wedding photographer in her own right. She now runs her own business – Rouge Amour.

Lynsey and Chris held their church service at St John the Evangelist in Woodley and after the ceremony all the guests were given a little parcel of jam sandwiches, crisps and a beautiful cup cake – LOVELY!!! Mr Vis-a-Video was with me and I was multi-tasking as guest and videographer, but Peter and I didn’t really get a chance to sample the snacks – but Simon made up for that by having both ours!

Lynsey’s father, who is part of the Just8 crew, the independent group of top British photographers managed to get Stuart Bebb, Neil Horne and Gary & Sue Williams to photograph her wedding. It got very busy trying to break through the ranks, but we still managed to get some great shots. Here is a little selection of my favourite moments:

Powered by Cincopa WordPress plugin

Following on from Farnborough, Peter and I then headed back to Great Fosters in Egham to film the wedding of Kasia & Mark, a Jewish-Polish affair, plus another chance to work with David Ward who I have not seen since January last year when we both worked together. Finally at the end of May, we were filming back at Highclere Castle to video the wedding of Lisa and Aaron and this time Lynsey was back on the other side of the lens, being my wedding photographer for the day with Chris as tog’s assistant. Couldn’t believe they’d been and come back from their honeymoon already!! Welcome back, it’s great working with you again!! x

Wedding Filmed at Wokefield Park – Berkshire

April 12th, 2010

Wedding of Ruchi and Vishnu

Ines “Vid Chick” Telling

The weekend before last saw me head off to film at Wokefield Park near Reading in Berkshire, which is a wedding venue I have last filmed at in 2005 – WOW! It certainly has had a face lift since then and looks very nice. If you are currently looking for a Wedding Venue in Berkshire let me tell you a bit about  Wokefield Park and why you may want to consider it for your wedding day: Wokefield Park is currently owned and run by the De Vere Venues group. I have filmed many weddings at their venues all over the the country throughout my eighteen years and De Vere’s generally run a very smooth and professional service . Wokefield Mansion House is beautifully set in over 250 acres of tranquil parkland in the heart of the Berkshire countryside. The Venue offers :

  • Personal wedding design service- bespoke packages for you
  • A complimentary bedroom for the Bride and Groom on the night of the wedding and includes breakfast
  • Your guests can take advantage of our special accommodation rates to stay over before and after you wedding

The Venue is located near Mortimer and beside holding Weddings and functions it also has a Championship Golf Course should you or any of your guests be big golf players. The house is used as a conference centre as well as by KPMG, BMW/MINI and the Xerox Corporation as their European Training and Digital Document Centre.

Best Man As Companion-in-ordinary
With the bride’s and groom’s luggage properly bestowed, the ring and fee in his pocket, the groom’s traveling clothes at the bride’s house, the groom in complete wedding attire, and himself also ready, the best man has nothing further to do but be gentleman-in-waiting to the groom until it is time to escort him to the church, where he becomes chief of staff.
Today I was filming the wedding of Ruchi and Vishnu, who had a civil ceremony in  the Lincoln Suite, followed by a Hindu ceremony in the ballroom. The guests were advised that if they wished to change now would be a good time. While I was filming Ruchi’s getting dressed for the Hindu ceremony Vishnu had  mounted a beautifully decorated horse and assembled about 75 of his family and friends for the Bharat – a procession from the main entrance of Wokefield Park all the way around the outside to the side entrance, accompanied by much singing, dancing and – most amazingly – the same fabulous Dhol drummers I have met before at Helena and Ketan’s wedding. In fact, Helena and Ketan were there, as I was there on their recommendation, plus the latest addition to their family: I got to meet the gorgeous Anoushka! After the Hindu Ceremony the Bride and Groom had a firework display in the grounds of the Mansion, then they and the 250 guests headed off to the wedding breakfast, speeches, cake cutting and first dance. Today was another opportunity to meet and work with a photographer I had not worked with before. In addition to this official photographer, who actually specialises in Hindu weddings in London, the groom’s family had also flown in their own Hindu photographer from Glasgow. Talk about media frenzy!!! With top filming positions at a premium it did get quite cosy at times…

At the end of the day Peter ( 2nd camera assistant ) and myself had filmed for a full twelve hours, and unknown to us the Venue had mislaid our meals, so all we had all day was a cup of tea GASP :-( )   Despite some challenging conditions we managed to get some great footage and I am really looking forward to editing their wedding. In the meantime, here are a few current samples of my work and even if you have already booked a wedding videographer and just want some help and inspiration just get in touch…  Until next time  Other Links you may find useful

Wedding Venues in Surrey – Northbrook Park – Wedding Video by Ines

March 19th, 2010

James & Lucy – Northbrook Park

Saturday March 19th 2010

This Saturday saw me head off to Farnham in Surrey to film the wedding of Lucy and James at Northbrook Park, a Wedding Venue near Bentley.

Instead of working with my usual side kick (read: husband), I was working with Peter Ford, a senior camera operator from London for the first time. Simon is recovering after a recent shoulder operation at the Epsom General Hospital under the guidance of the apparently famous Consultant Daniel Mok.

Small world really, as the recent wedding Vis-a-Video filmed in Hampshire had a large contingent of orthopaedic surgeons and Danny Mok turned out to be a friend of the Bride’s Father (although he didn’t make the wedding).

On Saturday, Peter and I started filming at the Church as Lucy, the Bride, preferred to have additional footage of the evening reception after the First Dance instead.

Lucy and James’ church ceremony was held at St. Andrews Parish Church in Farnham

Here are some interesting facts about this church, should you ever consider having your Wedding Ceremony there:

-Listed by English Heritage at Grade 1 and has a heritage going back to the 12th Century when Thomas a Becket was Archbishop of Canterbury.

-Powers-that-be in 2006 saw fit to “update” the interior for the 21st century by removing ancient pews (sold on eBay)

-Outside the porch is the grave of the great William Cobbett, writer and reformer

-Supposedly one of the more haunted churches in the country

After the church ceremony it was only a short drive to Northbrook Park, a stunning Wedding Venue for the Reception.

Their website states: “one of the finest Surrey Wedding Venues”, this was my first time there and I can confirm that it is a truly beautiful place.

The theme for the Wedding was ‘Retro Spring’, with the girls in ice cream colours and the  Venue decorated in gorgeous fresh spring colours – just the thing after this horrendous winter! The snow drops were out, the Wedding Breakfast was being served in the Vine Room and it looked absolutely stunning.

Northbrook Park is also home to six peacocks who provided the most entertaining sound effects during the speeches. Interesting fact of the day: Did you know peacocks could fly? Well, I didn’t but I do now and here is the proof, he was off onto the roof:

I would recommend you head over to Northbrook Park’s web site to have a read about the venue and possibly book a coffee and a show around with Debbie – oh, and do mention VIS-a-VIDEO if you do ;-)

After filming the Wedding Breakfast and Speeches it was time for the First Dance and straight after this Lucy had a surprise up her sleeve: She was going to sing a song. With the Band. To her parents. And she ROCKED it!!

Soon, it was time to pack up the gear and head home – me back to Epsom and Peter back to London.

I now have a small break, well, one week end off filming weddings, so am back in the studio editing the next batch of wedding videos. Since Peter is also an Apple certified Motion and Final Cut Pro trainer and editor (handy!) he will be editing with me next week just so I can get my feet back on the ground – they’re still dangling from last season!!

Meanwhile, I have not one but two lame ducks in the house. Not only is Simon incapacitated after his shoulder op, but Pip the cockatiel has mysteriously lost all his flight feathers off his left wing over night after an ‘incident’ and has been doing very authentic brick impressions when attempting to fly. Poor thing, it’s going to take a few weeks before they grow back. So, the race is on – Man against Cockatiel, who will be fit again first??!!

Wedding Venues in Surrey – Great Fosters – Wedding Film by Ines

March 16th, 2010

Filming your wedding video at Great Fosters

Greetings from the Flight Deck – this is the First Officer reporting in with news of Ines Telling and VIS-a-VIDEO – February is still a fairly quiet time in the wedding industry – but that does not mean Ines is having any time off. Having just completed a weeks filming at the Hawth Theatre near Gatwick for the British Airways Pantomime Society, G.A.P.S., filming a church ceremony at Winchester followed by the reception at Highclere Castle, this weekend was a civil ceremony at Great Fosters near Egham in Surrey.

In between all this filming there have been deadlines to meet as editing and post production are a much larger part of a wedding video than the filming.

Recently, VIS-a-VIDEO became the nominated wedding videographer for Bijou Wedding Venues. They are currently running a number of Wedding Fairs at their 4 venues – Notley Abbey, Cain Manor, Botleys Mansion and Silchester House and Ines has been printing brochures for the Wedding Venues to display at the fairs non stop.

This weekend, Ines was off to film the wedding of Vinny and Rozina at the lovely venue of Great Fosters which is located so close to Heathrow International Airport you could almost walk to it from British Airways Terminal 5. Ines and Simon drove firstly to the bride’s house in Heston, Middlesex to film some bridal preparations and after an hour or so headed off ahead of the bride to set up at Great Fosters and film the groom and guests arriving.

Vinny and Rozina decided on a simple afternoon civil ceremony in the beautiful Orangery, followed by champagne and canapés. There is a great selection of canapés to choose from their Autumn and Winter Menu which is prepared by Head Chef, Simon Bolsover; please have a look at this link where you can download their menus.

The Orangery is one of 4 locations you can hold your wedding reception at Great Fosters; this link will show you the other 3 to choose from, depending on the number of guests. Rozina and Vinny had about 100 guests and as there was no wedding breakfast by 6 pm most guests had headed off and the bride and groom headed to their white Bentley Arnage  waiting to drive the freshly married couple to the groom’s house for some more wedding celebrations and speeches.

These were not required to be professionally filmed, so Simon and Ines headed 5 minutes down the road to their friends Josh and Anna for a well-deserved beer before heading back to Epsom Downs. Another wedding successfully filmed, many congratulations to Rozina and Vinny…

Wedding Videos – Berkshire – Highclere Castle

March 16th, 2010

Winter Wedding in Winchester – Video filmed by Ines

Yesterday Ines and her assistant Simon left leafy Surrey and headed down the M3 to beautiful Hampshire to film the wedding of Joanna and David in Winchester. They arrived in the small village of Sutton Scotney just after 10:30 to film the bridal preparations at Joanna’s parents home.

After capturing the bride getting ready it was a short drive into the centre of Winchester to the Roman Catholic church of St. Peter’s. Luckily the bride’s parents had arranged for Ines to park in the church car park which made unloading and setting up a delight. Normally it is a case of finding somewhere to park and then Ines and her assistant have to carry the two camera bags, three cameras and tripods to the church and set up.

Unusually today, the bride arrived ten minutes early (*panic ensues!*) so it was “action stations” to ensure all cameras were rolling. After the church service the bride and groom got into the beautiful white Rolls Royce and drove the 30 minutes to Highclere Castle for the wedding reception.

Highclere Castle is one of Ines’ favorite wedding venues in Berkshire - she is fortunate enough to  be recommended supplier here and therefore has filmed at this fantastic wedding venue many times in the past. The fantastically capable Michelle impresses every time with the immaculate running of her events. If you have never been to Highclere Castle near Newbury before I would highly recommend you have a visit and speak to Michelle about your wedding requirements, their service really is second to none.

Highclere has been the home of the 8th Earl and Countess of Carnarvon since the late Earl died in 2001 – you may recognise the name Carnarvon, he sponsored a series of excavations in the Valley of the Kings, led by the Egyptologist Howard Carter, before discovering in 1922 the astonishing treasure of the tomb of Tutankhamun, the richest burial site ever found. The discovery made him famous throughout the world, and if you do hold your wedding reception at Highclere there is the chance to view the Egyptian Exhibition in the Castle cellars. If you love horses, Highclere Castle also hosts many equestrian events throughout the year.
wedding-video-highclere-castle-by-VIS-a-VIDEO
After the drinks reception of champagne and mulled wine the guests, who were mainly doctors and surgeons had the chance to mingle and chat with each other before Joanna, David and parents greeted everyone as they progressed along the receiving line and then sat down for dinner. Normally, this is the only break the wedding videographer and photographer get to have their own meal, on this occasion, however, they had not been briefed about the ‘Three Waiters’ who were due to perform their act during the meal. So after nearly ten hours of filming still no rest for the wicked!

Luckily, they managed to grab a starter before the ‘Three Waiters’ entertained the guests around the dinner tables and shortly after this the speeches commenced, followed by Joanna and David cutting their wedding cake and heading off to the dance floor for their first dance.
weddings-at-highclere-castle-wedding-filmed-by-visavideo
By 9:30 pm, and eleven hours of filming, Ines and Simon had finished, so after a much deserved cup of tea, a thank you to the bride’s mother and quick goodbye to Michelle they departed to  head back to Epsom in Surrey.

As you may know, Simon has accumulated several injuries over the years through various pursuits of action sports, so he would like to say a big thank you to Helen King who specialises in advanced clinical sports massage. Her recent treatment has helped Simon assist Ines with this very long day filming a wedding video in Hampshire and Berkshire.

Ines is now safely ensconced in the studio once again as she is still catching up with last season’s backlog and also recently spent five days filming the charity pantomime ‘Adventure in Pantoland’ for G.A.P.S. at the Hawth near Crawley. So, until the next outing, this is the cockpit signing off…

Bridge House Hotel – Reigate Hill – Final Wedding 2009

January 1st, 2010

Michelle & Will Wedding in Surrey

A final report from the flight deck of  VIS-à-VIDEO for 2009 as Ines now completes her fifth and final wedding video for December. For a change Ines was filming locally in Surrey, in fact so local the church was in Redhill and the wedding reception was in Reigate, which for a Christmas Eve wedding was great news.

As Simon (sometimes known as ‘Harry’) was on leave he was also helping out as the assistant, with duties such as setting up of the second camera in the church and reception, so it was a real family affair for the Award Winning Wedding Video Company.

The wedding ceremony was held in the Holy Trinity Church on Carlton Road in Redhill and after the spate of cold weather the snow and ice was still easy to slip over with the cameras when filming.

The vicar (Gary) who was taking the ceremony is a very friendly and easy going vicar who for once had no issues with wedding videographers and let Ines set up her two cameras without any hassle – as the wedding was on Christmas Eve the church had some beautiful decorations and the aisle had red candles all along the route for the bride and father to walk down.

The groom Will did look at bit stressed before the wedding – later transpires the ushers  were at another church – what made this funny was both ushers live in Redhill :-) You had to laugh!

Wedding images from Wedding Venues Surrey - Wedding Videos by Award Winning Wedding Videographer Ines Telling of VIS-a-VIDEO of Epsom - Surrey - Call 01737 373992

After the wedding ceremony the newlyweds drove up to Reigate Fort for some wedding photos over looking the stunning views of Reigate – Ines and Simon were working with Duncan Charman – a wedding photographer from Aldershot – They had never worked together before but both videographer and photographer got on like a house on fire and are both hoping to  be working together on future weddings on 2010.

After the photo session it was literally a stones throw to the wedding reception at the Bridge House hotel on Reigate Hill, where the couple enjoyed a few glasses of champagne and chatted to family and friends at the drinks reception.

After the bride and groom had enjoyed greeting everyone on the reception line it was time to sit down ad enjoy the wedding breakfast, the bride and groom very kindly gave Ines and Simon a seat on one of the main tables, which made a very nice change.

Once everyone had eaten it was time for the speeches and first dance, with it being  Christmas Eve the groom plus a lot of guests had brought their children with them, so the speeches and first dance were completed by five thirty and the disco then kicked in. What was also great for the kids was a very special visit from Santa Claus who came to see if they had all been good children during the year. The adults who had been very good were treated to a special baileys fountain – which Ines and Simon managed to ‘test’ a few samples.

It was also a great chance for VIS-a-VIDEO to work with some new suppliers and one of those was the wedding photographer Duncan Charman whom I mentioned earlier and a local DJ called James from Horley.

That  was the 5th and final wedding video for December and a chance for Ines to have a few weeks off rather than the usual few months as it looks like 2010 is already busy with the possibilities of filming a new wedding in January.

So until 2010 on behalf of VIS-a-VIDEO we wish all our past customers and our suppliers a very Happy New Year!

Winter Weddings in Hampshire – Cain Manor

December 26th, 2009

The picturesque and charming Cain Manor

Ines and Simon Telling of VIS-à-VIDEO were busy filming another Winter Wedding at the picture-perfect wedding venue of Cain Manor. VIS-a-VIDEO have filmed two wedding videos at Notley Abbey recently, which is one of five wedding venues owned by the Bijou Wedding Company; this was however our first visit to what can only be described as a totally awesome venue.

Cain Manor is set on the Hampshire – Surrey border close to the Devil’s Punch bowl near Hindhead and lays within 20 acres of private grounds. I guess the beauty of holding your wedding at Cain Manor or any of the bijou wedding venues is everything is there for you.

Wedding images from Wedding Venue Cain Manor in Hampshire - Wedding Videos by VIS-a-VIDEO of Epsom Surrey

Licensed for Civil Marriages and Partnership Ceremonies either held inside or outside, food cooked on site and overnight accommodation newly weds could do no wrong with booking a wedding at one of the bijou wedding venues.

This wedding was on the weekend the South East had all the bad weather, so driving to this secluded venue was going to be tricky as a lot of the back roads in Surrey and Hampshire were not de-iced. Ines and Simon got to the venue after negotiating all the country lanes and got themselves all set up to film the wedding of Maria and Grant.

It transpired that the groom was a jet racer and was currently ranked third in the British Championships, if you look closer at the wedding cake you will see the bride and groom on two jet skis made of icing.

The bride’s family decorated a Christmas tree at the venue, with friends and guests contributing decorations and cards as well. The bride’s father had travelled over from Florida and I think as well as celebrating the wedding they were also going to have an early Christmas together, so all this together with the lovely smell of warm mulled wine made Cain Manor the perfect Christmas wedding venue.

The civil ceremony was held in-doors and what is really nice about Cain Manor is the wedding guests do not have to venture into the cold the whole day and every part of the wedding day is conducted in the main part of the manor.

VIS-a-VIDEO filmed the bride and groom’s first dance, and once the whole day’s filming was completed drove back to Epsom Downs for a glass of red wine and to watch the final of SCD (Strictly Come Dancing).

On Sunday morning Ines was back in the studio to carry on editing and to reply to wedding enquiries, one of which was a re-newal of wedding vows for 2011 as the couple did not have their wedding filmed and regretted it ever since, so fingers crossed VIS-a-VIDEO will get the opportunity to film it for them.

With Christmas fast approaching, VIS-a-VIDEO has one more wedding to video on Christmas Eve, but lucky for Ines it is only in Reigate which is not far from her studio on Epsom Downs.

If I do not get chance to update you on that wedding, on behalf of Ines Telling and VIS-à-VIDEO we wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Wedding Video Hitcham Ipswich

December 18th, 2009

The Wedding of Sammie and George

Greetings once again from the flight deck, as mentioned in the last post Ines Telling of VIS-a-VIDEO is on a bit of a roll as far as filming “Winter Weddings” goes – with 3 weddings filmed and  two more to go before the end of 2009 season.

There is no rest this winter, as we are already gearing up for 2010 with pantomimes at Crawley and the first wedding in February to film.

We had only just returned from filming a wedding at Notley Abbey, when it was “battle stations” once again – batteries to recharge, footage from the compact flash cards to transfer, wedding photographs to check for the blog, blogs and websites to get updated, Tom Tom to program – sometimes 24 hours is not enough hours in the day for the Award Winning Ines Telling.

This time VIS-a-VIDEO was heading deep into Suffolk to film the wedding of Sammie and George at the All Saints Church in Hitcham, followed by the wedding reception at another church – Wattisham Church right next to the military base. The RAF moved out in March 1993 and it is now the largest Army Air Corps airfield in the United Kingdom.

It was a very early start for the team, who were on the M25 heading towards Kent by 8 am and then through the Dartford tunnel to then pick up the A12 towards Bury St Edmunds. By 9:30 they were entering the sleepy village of Hitcham when it started to rain, as the film crew came around the corner they saw the most amazing rainbow over the village of Hitcham, screeching the car to a halt the Award Winning Wedding Videographer was out of the car with her Sony Z7 in hand filming the rainbow – by 10 am they had found the church.

With all the modern technology in the world, Google’s satellites still have not covered much of Suffolk as it took real team work to find the church – you could almost say Simon and Ines were a WRC rally team – but with almost military precision they found the church with time to spare to go film inside and outside of this lovely church before the heavens opened up.

Back in the car, the WRC team headed off to film the bridal preparations before driving back to the church to film the wedding ceremony – The lady priest who conducted the ceremony discussed wedding life like a box of ……no no a very large toblerone – by now the film crew had been up since 6 am and the chunky toblerone was looking more like brunch than an adaptation of wedding life.

After the ceremony the newlyweds literally ran out of the church to Blur song 2 – woo-hoooo!! – ……  then it was a time for the young student wedding photographer to take a few shots before everyone jumped in the car to head off to the wedding reception. This was one occasion where there very nearly wasn’t a wedding photographer, he had only been hired as an afterthought two days before the wedding – and then only for a couple of hours on the day as the wedding video was deemed much more important. We like!!

The wedding reception venue was a rather quaint church no longer used for sermons but was now being run by Dave the farmer and his wife as a wedding venue – This church-come-new-wedding venue is located next to the well-known pheasant shoot run by Rushbrook and Son which attracts many people from across the country.

The weather had started  to deteriorate and by late afternoon the marquee attached to the church was starting to leak added to the fact  that the temperature had dropped a degree or two it was getting to get rather chilly filming in the marquee – I think due to these factors the wedding reception quickly filed into the church – wedding venue for the wedding breakfast or rather lovely piping hot fish and chips with the food wrapped in a newspaper article on the celebration of Sammie and George’s wedding – great change to the normal formal delivery of the wedding breakfast.

The bride and groom were due to have their first dance by 6 pm, however the band from Colchester never turned up till 6:45 and then still had to set up – so we ended up doing the first dance to a friend of theirs playing ‘Heartbeats’ by José González on his guitar, a very lovely moment.

Simon and Ines left Suffolk at 7 pm and where back home in sleepy Surrey by 8:30 for a glass of red wine and catch up with SCD ( Strictly Come Dancing ) … This weekend Ines is filming a wedding video at  Cain Manor – a first for her – I will update you on the new adventure next week.
